Settings & data.
Every setting, the sync system, buy-document management, and exactly what data Murex stores about your store. Nothing hidden, no surprises.
4.1 — SettingsSettings overview.
Access Settings from the navigation sidebar. All onboarding choices can be changed here.
Primary fulfillment location
Your selected Shopify location for inventory tracking. Click Change location to select a different one. Murex will re-fetch your locations from Shopify to show the current list.
Active buy document
If you’ve uploaded one or more buy documents, select which one is active for reporting. The control is hidden if no buy documents have been uploaded.
Season STR target
Set an optional STR target percentage for plan-vs-actual comparisons. Requires an active buy document.
Risk flag thresholds
Customize how Murex identifies inventory risks:
| Risk type | Default criteria |
|---|---|
| Stockout risk | Fewer than 30 days of supply (configurable: 30 / 60 / 90 / 180) |
| Excess inventory | STR below 25% AND velocity under 2 units/month AND inventory over 20 |
| Dead stock | STR below 10% AND zero velocity AND inventory over 10 |
Best-sellers list size
Set the number of products tracked in your best-sellers list (20 to 30, default 30).
Collection push mode
Toggle whether Murex can push sort-order changes directly to your Shopify collections. Disabled by default for safety. When enabled, all pushes still require your explicit approval.
Included sales channels
Select which ecommerce channels to include in analytics. POS is always excluded regardless of this setting.
4.2 — FreshnessSync & data freshness.
Murex keeps your data fresh through a hybrid sync strategy — fast webhooks for changes as they happen, scheduled syncs to catch anything missed.
| Sync type | Frequency | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Real-time webhooks | Instant | Order creation, product updates, and inventory changes captured immediately via Shopify webhooks. |
| Incremental sync | Every 15 min | Fetches products that changed since the last sync; updates metrics and regenerates recommendations. |
| Full reconciliation | Every 4 hr | Re-fetches all products and 60 days of order history to correct any drift. |
| Manual sync | On demand | Triggers a full sync with all recommendation engines. Rate-limited to once every 5 minutes. |
Sync log
View your last 30 sync events in Settings, showing timestamp, trigger type (scheduled or manual), status, variants updated, and any errors.
Manual sync
Click the sync button in the app header to trigger a manual sync. If you’ve synced within the last 5 minutes, a cooldown timer shows when the next sync is available.
4.3 — Buy documentBuy document management.
The buy document is an optional CSV upload that enriches your Shopify data with seasonal planning context.
What the buy document adds
- Category taxonomy — CAT, Division, and Subclass fields for richer category roll-ups
- Planned quantities — ECOMM buy quantities for plan-vs-actual tracking
- Vendor context — Vendor field (supplements Shopify’s product vendor)
- Season labels — user-defined identifiers (e.g., “S26”, “FW25”)
What Murex does without a buy document
Everything works. Without a buy doc:
- Category roll-ups use Shopify product types and/or collection membership
- Plan-vs-actual sections are hidden
- Vendor context uses Shopify’s product vendor field
- All STR, velocity, risk flags, recommendations, and best-sellers features work normally
Upload requirements
- Format — CSV
- Size limit — 10 MB
- Required column — SKU (used to match rows to Shopify variants)
- Optional columns — CAT, Division, Subclass, Vendor, ECOMM buy quantity, Status
Buy document history
View all previously uploaded buy documents with upload date, uploader, and matched SKU count. You can re-activate a prior upload at any time.
4.4 — PrivacyData storage & privacy.
What Murex stores
| Data type | Details |
|---|---|
| Product data | Titles, variants, SKUs, prices, inventory levels, collections, images |
| Computed metrics | STR, velocity, days of supply, risk flags per variant |
| Aggregated order metrics | Units sold and revenue per SKU across time windows (7/14/30/60 days) |
| Configuration | Selected location, channels, thresholds, preferences |
| Buy document data | SKU, category, division, subclass, vendor, planned quantities, season |
What Murex does not store
- Customer names, emails, or addresses
- Payment information
- Individual order records or shipping details
- Any customer personal information
Murex is a merchandising tool. We aggregate units and revenue per SKU because that’s all we need — there’s no reason for us to ever touch your customers’ data.
4.5 — DeletionWhat happens when you uninstall.
- Immediately. Session data is deleted.
- Within 48 hours. All store data is permanently deleted in compliance with Shopify’s GDPR requirements — product data, metrics, recommendations, buy documents, projects, sync logs, and configuration.
- Retained. Only a hashed identifier (SHA-256 of your shop domain) is kept to prevent trial abuse. This contains no personal or store information.
On-demand data deletion
You can request immediate, permanent deletion of all your store data from Settings → Delete all store data. This is irreversible.
On-demand deletion clears everything Murex knows about your store — product data, computed metrics, buy documents, project history. If you reinstall, Murex starts from scratch.
